(Invasive Bush Honeysuckles / Lonicera spp.)
Several non-native honeysuckle species are invasive across much of the United States, including Amur, Morrow’s, Tatarian, Japanese, and dwarf honeysuckle. These shrubs were introduced for ornamental use but now dominate forest edges and understories. They leaf out early and retain foliage late, shading out native plants and reducing biodiversity. Birds spread their seeds widely, accelerating invasion into natural areas.
