(Lesser Burdock / Arctium minus)
Lesser burdock is a biennial plant introduced from Europe and now widespread throughout much of the United States. It commonly invades roadsides, fields, streambanks, and other disturbed areas. The plant produces burr-like seed heads that easily attach to animals, clothing, and equipment, allowing it to spread quickly. Dense populations can crowd out native plants and reduce forage quality, making it one of the most problematic burdock species in North America.
